Mr. Coffi(Côte d ' Ivoire), speaking on behalf of the Group of African States, said that the Group was concerned by the late issuance of the Secretary-General ' s report, even though it had been known since the adoption of General Assembly resolution 63/276 in April 2009 that the report was to be submitted at the first part of the resumed sixty-fourth session.
The report of the Secretary-General on the implementation of the World Programme of Action for Youth to the Year 2000 and Beyond(A/52/60-E/1997/6) contained recommendations on action to be taken to implement the global recommendations of the Programme of Action; a report was to be submitted to the General Assembly through the Commission for Social Development on progress achieved and obstacles encountered.
