Later, Esau seems to have had second thoughts about his decision and, after a dispute about their father's blessing, threatened to kill Jacob, who fled on his mother's advice to the home of her brother in Haran.
Jacob represents the typical figure of a sinner to whom God has shown His mercy within His righteousness, while Esau represents one who turns against God by ignoring His righteous love and pursuing their own righteousness.
Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, all the people in his household, his livestock, his animals, and all his possessions which he had acquired in the land of Canaan and went to a land some distance away from 4 Jacob his brother 7 because they had too many possessions to be able to stay together and the land where they had settled 5 was not able to support them because of their livestock.
