As a part of this project, the team has been planting trees in a national forest stretching across Chitose City to Lake Shikotsu in the southwest area of Hokkaido, where many trees were fallen by Typhoon No.18 in September 2004.
Greater Jakarta, which is home to more than 30 million people, has been pounded by heavy rain over the past 24 hours, triggering landslides and floods that have destroyed homes and toppled trees.
There would be a lot of fallen trees buried in sand, and more and more rubbles will be washed up on the beach. We must bear in mind that it will take a long time to recover the affected area.
