The author alleges that due to the doubling-up in South Australian corrective facilities, in particular the Adelaide Remand Centre, his rights under article 10, paragraph 1, of the Covenant were violated.
The latter informed HREOC that the" sole reason for refusing[the author' s] employment was to ensure the integrity of the Adelaide Casino and public confidence in that institution".
On 25 June 1986, the author obtained temporary employment at the Casino in Adelaide, South Australia; he initially worked as a bar porter and subsequently as an attendant.
In 1973, two children, Joanne Ratcliffe(aged 11) and Kirste Gordon(aged 4), disappeared from the Adelaide Oval during a football match, and they are presumed to have been abducted and murdered.
