If you want to start selling products online, Jimdo provides a quick solution.
You can create a store as a new website or add one to an existing Jimdo site.
Jimdo also lets you add other external widgets or apps like calendars to your pages using custom code.
If you have bigger plans for your site, there's a good chance you will find Jimdo too restrictive.
Jimdo gets the SEO basics right. You can customize your URLs, meta descriptions, and page titles- something not every builder allows.
I have worked with quite a few website builders over the past few years, and not many are easier to use than Jimdo.
It also has a website showcase section, and if you check it out, you will see that Jimdo customers have built some really sleek and creative websites.
Each one has a free plan and four paid plans. The prices are pretty comparable with most other builders, but I would still say Jimdo is one of the cheapest.
With the free plan, you can't connect your own domain, and Jimdo will show ads on your website. You do get an SSL certificate, and low priority support is supposed to be available although you will rarely get a response.
Although Jimdo doesn't have an app store and the types of elements you can add to your pages are quite limited, there are a few useful ones, such as a table, a music player, a Facebook box, and a Twitter follow button.
That's great, but the problem is that you can't pay to download better files. We are looking forward to seeing Jimdo add more functionality to its logo maker, but for now, you will be stuck with just one PNG file suitable for web display.
Keep in mind that part of the reason why Jimdo e-commerce features are so easy to use is that the tools are very simple. There are no product categories or real-time shipping tools, product variations are pretty basic, and digital products are not supported but check here for a workaround.
Jimdo has a detailed Help Center, but there are no questions related to the logo maker- probably because this tool is still so new. Since the company does not provide phone support, you will have to send your questions via either email or the“Leave Us a Message” contact form.
That's nice and all, but Jimdo is also one of the only site builders that will limit the number of pages your site can have. With the free plans, you only get five pages. Even the paid plans limit you to 10 or 50 pages. Only the Unlimited plan, which isn't cheap at all, will give you an unlimited number of pages.
Jimdo is mainly aimed at those that mainly want to build ecommerce stores and their main idea is the ease of use every step of the way. Right now, there are around 20 million Jimdo sites with around 200,000 of them being online shops.
Jimdo is incredibly easy to use. Even with no technical experience at all, you can use the AI-based builder to get your first website online within three minutes. But simplicity comes at a cost- Jimdo is quite limited in functionality and customization options, and you might find the plans a bit restrictive. Jimdo lets you create“colorful, original, and unique” websites.
About 15 million people trust Jimdo for their websites.
