This Michi-no-Eki(roadside rest area) Kuzumaki Kogen, north of Morioka on Highway 4 at the intersection with Highway 281, is a place of relaxation that is equipped with a farmers market, food court and park.
Inside the Togakushi Kogen area, you can freely use the bus for 5 days, so you can enjoy visiting anywhere you want. You can also take a detour to Zenkoji, not only Togakushi Kogen.
You could also walk all the way back to the Norikura Kogen Tourist Information Center, but it is a long 18 kilometer trek that would take around 4-5 hours in that case, make sure you start early because you do not want to get stuck on the mountain after the buses haves stopped running!

Kamikochi, Norikura Kogen, and other areas begin to glow with the reds, oranges, and yellows of changing leaves as early as late September. Leaves at lower elevations last until early November. Matsumoto has some of the most famous fall-leaf viewing spots in the country. Clear night skies during the fall and winter make for excellent star gazing and moon viewing.
A car is recommended for traveling through the area. When using public transportation, you can use buses; however the buses are limited by number and time, so please check in advance. Ebino Kogen is about 1 hour and 30 minutes away from Miyazaki Station by high-speed bus. Aside from Miyazaki Station, you can use high-speed buses from Hakata Station or Kagoshima Airport.
