Only the Kakegawa castle palace, the Taiko-Yagura, and the Otemon bansho are extant, and the Castle Tower and Otemon Gate were restored as they were at the time of the Heisei(time period) period.

The restoration was aimed to recover the appearance in early Edo period and finished in the 5th year of Heisei era(1993). The outer citadel(Ninomaru Goten) still exists today, and the inside is open to the public.
