What the local organizer focused on was washi, or traditional Japanese paper, with its markedly longer and thinner fibers than Western papers, its toughness, and the distinctive textures evident in such varieties as Mino, Awa and Echizen.
Myoga Bochi-【郷土料理ものがたり】 Myoga Bochi(Japanese ginger rice balls) is a local sweet of early summer, made in the mid-western part of Mino, Gifu prefecture.
This craft dates back to the late Muromachi period(in the 1500s), when a potter from Mino province(present-day the southern part of Gifu Pref.) built a kiln in this town. The craft was given a vermillion-seal certificate for pottery industry by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1588 and thrived through the early Edo period.
The artist Hyōgo Mino started to work on the“Lucky cat”, the 19th room in the series, on 21th October, 2015, continued the work for about one month while he stayed in the hotel, and completed it on 21th November, 2015.
As part of the trend, potters in the Mino area(present-day Tono District) of Gifu Prefecture produced and distributed large quantities of tea wares that are powerfully formed, vividly colored, and novel in design that came to be known as Kiseto, Setoguro, Shino and Oribe wares.

Honminoshi is a type of tesuki washi, Japanese paper that is crafted entirely by hand and incorporates raw materials and techniques that have been practiced in and around Mino, Gifu Prefecture for more than a millennia.
