As the Goto Camellia Project, we will get together with the governments of Goto city and Nagasaki Prefecture, business associations, Nagasaki University and partner companies, in order to achieve a strong bond collaboration between industry, academia, and government that no one has accomplished before.
As the President of Nagasaki University, I do hope that all participants will recognize the importance of peace without nuclear weapons as well as the necessity of investigation of long-term effects of radiation in atomic bomb survivors in Hiroshima and Nagasaki through the scientific discussion on this meeting.
Metadata database of Japanese old photographs in Bakumatsu-Meiji Period-[Record view] The photographer is unknown, but judging from the land reclamation(just after the completion of the second reclamation on the left) this photograph was probably taken in 1862. This means that it is the oldest photograph in the Nagasaki University collection.
Purpose The purpose of the Guidelines is to prescribe matters to be observed at the time of planning and executing animal experiments at Nagasaki University(hereafter called"the University") so that experiments can be conducted properly not only from a scientific viewpoint but also from an ethical one with due consideration for animal welfare.
In the future, it will be linked to the activities of Nagasaki University's education and research station in Kenya to provide a foundation for building an early warning system for the Eastern Africa region, which also suffers frequent damage from climate variation, and the application and development can be expected for other diseases and regions in Asia, including Japan.
Going forward, as Tomioka makes progress with the return of residents, Tomioka and Nagasaki University have signed an agreement aimed at even closer cooperation. It will contribute to the reconstruction and regeneration of Tomioka by using the specialized experience that Nagasaki University has already gained in Kawauchi; a Nagasaki University satellite office has also been set up inside the Health and Welfare Department of Tomioka.
