Any Party included in Annex I should apply as the reference level for the land use, land-use change and forestry sector the aggregate carbon dioxide equivalent anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions by sources and removals by sinks estimated for the period 20XX- 20XX.
The SBI invited Croatia to submit to the secretariat, by 30 September 2003, inventories of anthropogenic emissions by sources and removals by sinks of all greenhouse gases not controlled by the Montreal Protocol, by year, including data from 1990 or an earlier year to the latest inventory year available.
Option 2:" Expected net emissions" is the algebraic sum of anthropogenic emissions by sources and removals by sinks of the greenhouse gases listed in Annex A to the Kyoto Protocol from the sectors which are expected to be accounted for during the relevant commitment period; it is expressed in gigagrams of carbon dioxide equivalent.
Article 5.3 bis. The global warming potentials used to calculate the carbon dioxide equivalence of anthropogenic emissions by sources and removals by sinks of greenhouse gases listed in Annex A and AI shall be those accepted by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and agreed upon by the Conference of the Parties.
Sexies.Parties included in Annex I must ensure that their reporting continues to provide estimates of emissions by sources and removals by sinks until the greenhouse gas emissions due to force majeure have been balanced by subsequent removals, and ensure unbiased accounting by maintaining consistency with the treatment of reference levels established for forest management.
Quater. A Party may reconsider its reference level as inscribed in the appendix and described in paragraph 11 above upon changing the methodologies, coverage of carbon pool and/or activity data used in its accounting of emissions by sources and removals by sinks resulting from forest management for the second commitment period.
Article 12.1(a) of the Convention requires that each Party shall communicate to the COP, through the secretariat, inter alia, a national inventory of anthropogenic emissions by sources and removals by sinks of all greenhouse gases not controlled by the Montreal Protocol.
Adopts the common reporting format tables contained in the annex for the purpose of submission of information on anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions by sources and removals by sinks from land use, land-use change and forestry activities under Article 3, paragraphs 3 and 4, pursuant to Article 5, paragraph 2, of the Kyoto Protocol in the second commitment period;
(c) Tracking progress made in the implementation of a mitigation action vis-à-vis the financial investment and GHG emissions by sources and removals by sinks was identified as a main challenge, underlined by the fact that the country teams responsible for formulating and implementing mitigation actions and for overseeing and tracking financial investments, as well as for preparing and coordinating the GHG inventory, do not necessarily interact on a regular basis.
Bis.[All Parties included in Annex I shall account for anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions by sources and removals by sinks resulting from the activity under Article 3, paragraph 4, forest management in the second commitment period[unless transparent and verifiable information is provided that this activity is not a source.]](Would imply deletion of forest management from paragraph 6 above).
the global warming potentials used to calculate the carbon dioxide equivalence of anthropogenic emissions by sources and removals by sinks of greenhouse gases listed in Annex A to the Kyoto Protocol shall be those provided by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in its Fourth Assessment Report based on the effects of the greenhouse gases over a 100-year time horizon.
Bis. For the second commitment period, accountable anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions by sources resulting from forest biomass decline shall be equal to anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions by sources and removals by sinks associated with forest biomass decline in the commitment period, less five times the anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions by sources and removals by sinks resulting from forest biomass decline during 2012, while avoiding double accounting.
Ter.A Party included in Annex I must ensure that reporting continues to provide estimates of emissions by sources and removals by sinks that reflect what the atmosphere sees17 until the greenhouse gas emissions due to[force majeure][natural disturbance] have been balanced by subsequent removals, and that consistency is
Requests the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice to initiate a work programme to explore ways of moving towards more comprehensive accounting of emissions by sources and removals by sinks from land use, land-use change and forestry, including through a more inclusive activity-based approach and a land-based approach, and to report to the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol at its[xxth] session on the outcomes of this work programme;
Ter.A Party included in Annex I must ensure that reporting continues to provide estimates of emissions by sources and removals by sinks that reflect what the atmosphere sees17 until the greenhouse gas emissions due to[force majeure][natural disturbance] have been balanced by subsequent removals, and that consistency is
Where the result of this calculation is a positive value, this value shall be subtracted from the accounted anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions by sources and removals by sinks from the land use, land-use change and forestry sector of that Party; moreover, an equivalent amount shall be added to the accounted anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions by sources and removals by sinks from the land use, land-use change and forestry sector in the following commitment period.
For the second commitment period, accountable greenhouse gas emissions by sources and removals by sinks resulting from forest management under Article 3, paragraph 4, shall be equal to anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions by sources and removals by sinks in the second commitment period, less[Y = length CP]18 times the yearly average of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions by sources and removals by sinks resulting from forest management activities for the first commitment period.
each subsequent commitment period, less[X] times the yearly average of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions by sources and removals by sinks resulting from forest management for all previous commitment periods.
Requests the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice to initiate a work programme to explore more comprehensive accounting of anthropogenic emissions by sources and removals by sinks from land use, land-use change and forestry, including through a more inclusive activity-based approach or a land-based approach, and to report to the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol at its ninth session on the outcomes of this work programme;
Emissions by sources and removals by sinks.
