With regard to meeting the goals set by the World Summit for Children, countries had worked to meet their commitments to complete national programmes of action(NPAs) by 1992.
The NPAs also helped to strengthen the focus of UNICEF-assisted programmes of cooperation in Africa on the policy environment and intersectoral approaches to achieving results for children.
This will include an analysis of NPAs by the Latin American Institute for Economic and Social Planning to determine training needs for officials in charge of NPAs in the region.
