موسیٰؑ نے جواب دیا: اللہ کہتا ہے کہ وہ ایسی گائے ہے جس سے خدمت نہیں لی جاتی، نہ زمین جوتتی ہے نہ پانی کھینچتی ہے، صحیح سالم اور بے داغ ہے، اس پر وہ پکار اٹھے کہ ہاں، اب تم نے ٹھیک پتہ بتایا ہے پھر انہوں نے اسے ذبح کیا، ورنہ وہ ایسا کرتے معلوم نہ ہوتے تھے

Give them an example about worldly life. It is like the vegetation of the earth that thrives when watered by the rain, which We send down from the sky, and then it all becomes stubble which the wind blows away. God has power over all things.
اور ان سے دنیا کی زندگی کی مثال بیان کرو مثل ایک پانی کے ہے جسے ہم نے آسمان سے برسایا پھر زمین کی روئیدگی پانی کے ساتھ مل گئی پھر وہ ریزہ ریز ہ ہو گئی کہ اسے ہوا ئیں اڑاتی پھرتی ہیں اور الله ہر چیز پر قدرت رکنے والا ہے

موسیٰ نے کہا کہ خدا فرماتا ہے کہ وہ بیل کام میں لگا ہوا نہ ہو، نہ تو زمین جوتتا ہو اور نہ کھیتی کو پانی دیتا ہو۔ اس میں کسی طرح کا داغ نہ ہو۔ کہنے لگے، اب تم نے سب باتیں درست بتا دیں۔ غرض(بڑی مشکل سے) انہوں نے اس بیل کو ذبح کیا، اور وہ ایسا کرنے والے تھے نہیں

Would anyone of you wish that he should have a green garden of palm trees and vines, watered by canals and laden with all sorts of fruit and then it should be consumed by a fiery whirlwind at the very time when he himself has grown very old and his small children are too feeble to earn anything? Thus Allah makes His revelations clear and plain to you that you may ponder over them.
کیا تم میں سے کوئی یہ پسند کرتا ہے کہ اس کے پاس ایک ہرا بھرا باغ ہو، نہروں سے سیراب، کھجوروں اور انگوروں اور ہرقسم کے پھلوں سے لدا ہوا، اور وہ عین اُس وقت ایک تیز بگولے کی زد میں آ کر جھلس جائے، جبکہ وہ خود بوڑھا ہو اور اس کے کم سن بچے ابھی کسی لائق نہ ہوں؟ اس طرح اللہ اپنی باتیں تمہارے سامنے بیان کرتا ہے، شاید کہ تم غور و فکر کرو

وہ ایسی گائے ہے جو سدھائی ہوئی نہیں ہے۔ نہ زمین کو جوتتی ہے اور نہ کھیتی کو پانی دیتی ہے۔ وہ صحیح سالم

Would any of you, being a man well advanced in age with helpless children to support, like to have a garden of dates and grapes, watered by rivers and containing all kinds of fruits, stricken by a fiery whirlwind and utterly scorched? Thus God makes His signs clear to you, so that you may reflect.
کیا تم میں سے کوئی یہ پسند کرتا ہے کہ اس کے پاس ایک ہرا بھرا باغ ہو، نہروں سے سیراب، کھجوروں اور انگوروں اور ہرقسم کے پھلوں سے لدا ہوا، اور وہ عین اُس وقت ایک تیز بگولے کی زد میں آ کر جھلس جائے، جبکہ وہ خود بوڑھا ہو اور اس کے کم سن بچے ابھی کسی لائق نہ ہوں؟ اس طرح اللہ اپنی باتیں تمہارے سامنے بیان کرتا ہے، شاید کہ تم غور و فکر کرو

تم کو میرے والد بلاتے ہیں کہ تم نے جو ہمارے لئے پانی پلایا تھا اس کی تم کو اُجرت دیں۔ جب وہ اُن کے پاس آئے

So one of the two women approached him, walking shyly; she said,“My father is calling you, in order to give you wages because you watered our animals for us”; when Moosa came to him and had told him the story, he said,“Do not fear, you are safe from the unjust people.”.
(کچھ دیر نہ گزری تھی کہ) ان دونوں عورتوں میں سے ایک شرم و حیا سے چلتی ہوئی اس کے پاس آئی اور کہنے لگی"میرے والد آپ کو بُلا رہے ہیں تاکہ آپ نے ہمارے جانوروں کو پانی جو پلایا ہے اس کا اجر آپ کو دیں" موسیٰؑ جب اس کے پاس پہنچا اور اپنا سارا قصہ اسے سُنایا تو اس نے کہا"کچھ خوف نہ کرو، اب تم ظالموں سے بچ نکلے ہو

And on the earth are tracts neighbouring each to each, and gardens of vines, and fields sown, and palms in pairs, and palms single, watered with one water; and some of them We prefer in produce above others. Surely in that are signs for a people who understand.
اور دیکھو، زمین میں الگ الگ خطے پائے جاتے ہیں جو ایک دوسرے سے متصل واقع ہیں انگور کے باغ ہیں، کھیتیاں ہیں، کھجور کے درخت ہیں جن میں سے کچھ اکہرے ہیں اور کچھ دوہرے سب کو ایک ہی پانی سیراب کرتا ہے مگر مزے میں ہم کسی کو بہتر بنا دیتے ہیں اور کسی کو کمتر ان سب چیزوں میں بہت سی نشانیاں ہیں اُن لوگوں کے لیے جو عقل سے کام لیتے ہیں
