A pass-through, or pass-thru, is an enclosed space with doors on opposite sides that acts as an airlock in a cleanroom to allow for the transfer of materials between the cleanroom and another space.
The airlock began re-pressurizing after a 1 hour and 32 minute spacewalk, and by this time Parmitano was having difficulty seeing, hearing, and speaking due to the amount of water in his suit.
In order to prevent precious air from escaping to space, the air inside the airlock is recovered into the PM before the outer hatch is opened to transfer the objects.
The wind/cargo shower is the necessary passage for people/goods entering and exiting the clean room and at the same time serves as a closed clean room for the airlock.
It gives a lot of living space and a lot of lab space, and attached to it you have a cylinder, and that has all the support structures in, all the life support and also the airlock.
The concept behind SuitSat-1 is quite simple, put some simple electronics(radio communications system, telemetry) into a Russian Orlan spacesuit, then throw it out of the airlock.
The lowest contamination-level cleanroom itself is also accessed via airlocks for personnel and materials, where strong air currents stir up the particles present and extract them via filter systems.
There are also four more secondary hangars with air locks located in the lower nose of the vessel, but these are not capable of rapid launch and are commonly used for shuttles and other non-time critical launch mecha.
