Et humiliati sunt Philisthim nec adposuerunt ultra ut venirent in terminos Israhel facta est itaque manus Domini super Philistheos cunctis diebus Samuhel.

So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more within the border of Israel. The hand of Yahweh was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel to Ramah;

Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.

So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.

And he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?

Statimque Saul cecidit porrectus in terram extimuerat enim verba Samuhel et robur non erat in eo quia non comederat panem tota die illa.

Then Saul fell straightway all along on the earth, and was sore afraid, because of the words of Samuel: and there was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day.

Therefore Eli said to Samuel,"Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he calls you, that you shall say,'Speak, Yahweh; for your servant hears.'" So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Yahweh; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of Yahweh by Samuel.

And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.
