In the domain of scientific research, the glass ceiling is still a reality: only 29% of researchers are women, 11% of senior academic roles are held by women, and only 3% of Nobel Prizes for science have been awarded to women.
And finally for those of you in this room who are female and there is lots of you and that is great to see, if you don't remember anything from my presentation today, remember one thing: there is no such thing as a glass ceiling, it is just a thick layer of men.
However, the result from 1990-2013 OWS revealed that the unexplained disparity portion in promotions to managers(kakaricho and higher) in Korea has increased since 2004, from 72% to 84%, and it might be possible that the magnitude of the glass ceiling is quite similar in the two countries.
