In its resolution 52/100, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to report annually to the General Assembly, the Commission on the Status of Women and the Economic and Social Council on the follow-up to and implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.1 Similar mandates were contained in General Assembly resolutions 51/69 and 50/203.
Decides to hold, at its thirtieth session, a half-day panel discussion on the follow-up to and implementation of the outcome of the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples, and its implications for the achievement of the ends of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples;
In the outcome document, the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to include a chapter in his report to the Assembly at its sixty-sixth session on the follow-up to and implementation of the Mauritius Strategy on the collection, analysis and dissemination of data on the sustainable development of those States and to make recommendations on how to address the challenges relating to those issues.

Mr. Trepelkov(Director of the Financing for Development Office, Department of Economic and Social Affairs), introducing the report of the Secretary-General on the follow-up to and implementation of the Monterrey Consensus and Doha Declaration on Financing for Development(A/69/358), said that developing countries had made impressive progress since 2002 in mobilizing domestic financial resources for development, but those resources remained insufficient to meet sustainable development needs.

At its fifty-eighth session, the General Assembly, inter alia, decided to review the progress made in the protection and promotion of the rights and well-being of the girl child, and requested the Secretary-General to provide information relating to the girl child in his report on the follow-up to and implementation of the outcomes of the United Nations conferences and summits to be considered during the sixtieth session of the Assembly(resolution 58/156).
At its sixty-first session, the General Assembly urged Governments and all relevant international and regional organizations to take timely action for the effective implementation of and follow-up to the Mauritius Declaration and the Mauritius Strategy for Implementation; and requested the Secretary-General to submit a report to the Assembly at its sixty-second session on the follow-up to and implementation of the Mauritius Strategy for Implementation(resolution 61/196).

By resolution 2001/41, the Council called upon the Secretary-General, in future reports to the General Assembly on the follow-up to and implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, to assess progress made on mainstreaming a gender perspective within the United Nations system, including by providing information on key achievements, lessons learned and best practices, and to recommend further actions and strategies for future action within the United Nations system.

WHO and OAU have agreed on an initiative for the establishment of a long-term joint OAU/WHO project associated with the Special Health Fund for Africa under which further fund-raising would be managed.
