There has been a proliferation of requests by the COP in the past for various entities to report to it on a number of different topics. This has resulted in a considerable increase in the number of documents before the COP, some of which have not always been easy to digest.
In this connection, the Committee recommends that, in line with the economy measures being undertaken in the Secretariat of the United Nations, the Conference of States Parties should be requested to review the number of documents envisaged and the manner in which they are to be produced.
