Delegates from Gabon, Cameroon, the  Democratic Republic of the  Congo and the  Republic of the  Congo actively participated in the workshop.
Trade promotion bodies and national chambers of commerce of ECO member States participated in the workshop.
Several business firms from the  member countries of the  Association of Southeast Asian Nations participated in the workshop.
Fourteen university faculty members from 10 countries in the  region, as well as a distinguished teaching staff, participated in the workshop.
Over 50 teachers from Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru participated in the workshop.
A total of 26 participants from 16 NHRIs of the  region participated in the workshop during which training visits to four different places of detention were facilitated by the  Director-General of Correction Services of the  Republic of Indonesia.
Representatives of the  following States participated in the workshop: Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, People' s Republic of China, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Singapore and Thailand.
Representatives of the  following organizations also participated in the Workshop: ESA, the  International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development(ICIMOD), the  Mountain Forum and the  Office for Outer Space Affairs.
All countries represented on the  Security Council, its new incoming members, the  United Nations, the  International Atomic Energy Agency(IAEA) and representatives of the  1540 Committee participated in the workshop.
A total of seventeen government officials from nine countries(Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay) participated in the workshop.
A second workshop,  on the  application of biotechnology to tuberculosis research, was held in  Caracas in  June; 33 scientists from 15 countries participated in the workshop.
Many indigenous representatives participated in the workshop and contributed to the  formulation of recommendations for the  implementation of article 8(j) to protect indigenous knowledge, innovations and practices.
Twenty-eight trainees participated in the workshop, coming from the  Comoros, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, Somalia and the  United Republic of Tanzania.
Experts from the  Pacific Disaster Centre, NDRCC, the  Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency(JAXA), ADRC, DigitalGlobe and LAPAN also participated in the workshop.
Legislators, government officials, practitioners and educators, holding positions in  governmental departments, space agencies, international organizations, national universities, research institutions and the  private sector, participated in the Workshop.
Almost 900 staff members of the  Department of Management participated in the workshop, and a number of special sessions have been organized for personnel of the  Department of Peacekeeping Operations.
About 40 legal and scientific experts, including members of the  Legal and Technical Commission and the  Commission on the  Limits of the  Continental Shelf, participated in the workshop.
Representatives of the  national human rights institutions of Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Mauritania, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, State of Palestine, the  Sudan and Tunisia participated in the workshop.
