According to a poll by Reuters/Ipsos in October 2013, 36 per cent of the 1,067 people surveyed didn't use their accounts and 7 per cent said they had shut their accounts.
Asked why they preferred coffee to tea, 46% of those surveyed said they needed the caffeine hit from coffee to wake up in the morning, while 39% said they needed it as a pick-me-up during the day.
Bullying by text message was the most common form of abuse reported, with 14 percent of children interviewed saying they had received upsetting messages on their mobile phones.
In terms of types of investments, 72 percent of U.S. respondents said that they could invest in the clean tech industry with 58 percent saying that would invest in new media/social networking startups.
But according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll, 36% of 1,067 people who have joined Twitter say they do not use it, while 7% say they have closed their account.
