UNCTAD should assist LLDCs, in the formulation of national trade and trade-related policies, and in mainstreaming trade in development and poverty-reduction strategies.
They also encouraged UNCTAD' s technical assistance and capacity-building to LLDCs on transport and trade facilitation to be continued.
This conference adopted the Almaty Programme of Action, the first United Nations programme of action devoted exclusively to addressing LLDCs' special needs.
