(a) To keep under further review the implementation of Article 4 by the High Contracting Parties, including the adequacy and the usefulness of the Article 4 Generic electronic template as a tool for effective recording and retaining of information pertinent to the implementation of Article 4 of the Protocol;
(c) To encourage High Contracting Parties to include detailed information in reporting form B on steps taken to implement the provisions of Article 4 and the Technical Annex, including through using the Article 4 generic electronic template, and to continue the consideration of national practices of recording of information on explosive ordnance.
In his view, the revised article 4 generic electronic template had been considered in sufficient detail for him to recommend to the President that it should be adopted-- without prejudice to any comments that participants might wish to make-- and that the issue should be kept under review by future informal meetings of experts and conferences of the High Contracting Parties to Protocol V.
Mr. Markuš(Slovakia), speaking as Coordinator on the article 4 generic electronic template, said that the current version of the template, which had been approved at the Second Conference of the High Contracting Parties to Protocol V, was already in use, and there had been an agreement that it should not be amended.
In particular, five coordinators-- from Austria, Croatia, Hungary, India and the Netherlands-- were appointed to guide the deliberations on the different substantive topics of the Protocol ' s implementation, notably on the issues of clearance, cooperation and assistance and requests for assistance, a generic electronic template and national reporting, generic preventive measures and the topic of victim assistance.
The Conference also decided to adopt on a trial basis the Article 4 generic electronic template, as contained in Annex VIII of the Final Document of the Conference, for the purpose of effective recording and retaining of information pertinent to the implementation of Article 4(and to its further adaptation at country level), subject to final approval by the Second Conference in 2008.

He announced that, following consultation with the regional group leaders, Croatia was proposed as Coordinator on clearance(subparagraph(a)), Hungary on requests for assistance(subparagraph(b)), India on the generic electronic template and national reporting(subparagraphs(c) and(e), to be combined), a member of the Group of Western European and Other States on generic preventive measures(subparagraph(d)), and Austria on victim assistance(subparagraph(f)).
