Mongolia fully endorsed the  provisions of the  Declaration on the midterm review of the  Almaty Programme of Action(A/63/L.3)
Take note of the  present report on the midterm review of the  UNFPA strategic plan, 2008-2013, and welcome the  strategic direction in the  report to strengthen UNFPA accountability for results and operational excellence;

Mr. Kasemsuvan(Thailand): First of all, I would like to acknowledge with appreciation the  Secretary-General ' s report on the midterm review of the  implementation of the  Brussels Programme of Action(A/61/173).
Mr. Ahmed-Sambo(Nigeria): Nigeria is pleased to take part in this High-level Meeting on the midterm review of the  implementation of the  Programme of Action for the  Least Developed Countries for the  Decade 2001-2010.
Requests the  Secretary-General to submit to the  General Assembly at its sixty-fifth session an analytical report on the  implementation of the  Almaty Programme of Action and the  Declaration on the midterm review;
In response to a request from the  General Assembly, informal interactive hearings with representatives of non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations and the  private sector were conducted in June 2006 in preparation for the  high-level meeting on the midterm review, held in September 2006.
Stresses the  importance of the  annual report as a key part of UNICEF reporting to the  Executive Board on  results and outcomes in the  implementation of the  MTSP, and looks forward to the  report at the  second regular session of 2008 on the midterm review;
