Under item 2(a), the Board had before it the report of the External Auditor on the accounts of UNIDO for the financial period 1 January 2004 to 31 December 2005(IDB.32/3), the financial performance report for the biennium 2004-2005 submitted by the Director-General(IDB.32/4) and the programme performance report for 2005 which is included in the Annual Report of UNIDO 2005(IDB.31/2 and Add.1).

On 9 September, the Committee considered the report of the External Auditor on the accounts of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and of the Industrial Development Fund for the financial period 2002-2003 ended 31 December 2003(PBC.20/3), the financial performance report for the biennium 2002-2003 submitted by the Director-General(PBC.20/5) and the Annual Report of UNIDO 2003(PBC.20/2 and Add.1).

Financial regulation 3.9 provides that" Supplementary estimates for the current fiscal period for the regular and operational budgets shall, when required, be submitted by the Director-General.
