In response to the above-mentioned request of the General Assembly, the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union transmitted the report of the Tunis phase of the Summit to the Assembly at its sixtieth session(A/60/687).
The Tunis Agenda for the Information Society(2005) reiterated the importance of measurement, called for the tracking of progress in the use of ICT to achieve internationally agreed goals and referred to the efforts of the Partnership.
UNCTAD will continue to contribute to the implementation of the Geneva Plan of Action and to the preparatory process of the Tunis phase, focusing on the potential of ICT for enhancing productivity, trade and competitiveness in developing countries.

At the invitation of the Government of Tunisia, OHCHR participated in a seminar in Tunis on 30 and 31 May 2013, the purpose of which was to discuss a new draft anti-terrorism law for the country.

UNITAR had been an organizer of the recent World Summit of cities and local authorities on the information society to prepare the second phase of the World Summit on the Information Society about to meet in Tunis.
ECA is also organizing a regional preparatory meeting for the Tunis Summit, to be hosted by Ghana from 2 to 4 February 2005.
In this context, I presented an analysis of the international risks and how to confront them, together with an analysis of Arab efforts up to the Tunis(2004) and Algiers(2005) summits.
