Cochlear's Remote Check enables Cochlear implant recipients to use the Nucleus Smart App to conduct self-tests at home and share those results and device diagnostic information with a participating clinic. When the self-tests are conducted, the test results, including personal information will be sent to Cochlear.
The internal part of an EAS Hearing Implant System, the cochlear implant with an especially flexible FLEXEAS Electrode Array, is implanted under the skin behind the ear. The FLEXEAS Electrode Array is inserted into the cochlea by the surgeon. The surgery is a routine procedure for experienced ENT surgeons and usually takes one to three hours. Your surgeon will advise you concerning any additional details of the surgery.

The Nucleus® 7 Sound Processor constantly monitors the listening environment and is able to determine when speech is present. The charts on the'Time in Speech' screen track the time spent in a speaking environment. If you use a streaming accessory(e.g. a Cochlear Wireless TV Streamer), that time is also calculated and added to the total'Time in Speech.
Our websites and services are intended for general audiences, such as patients, parents, and the general public, and they are not specifically directed toward children. Certain Cochlear services and apps are accessed via a Cochlear Account and Child Accounts can be created with a parent's consent. If you want your child to use Nucleus Smart App independently on their own device to control their Nucleus 7 Sound Processor, you can create a Cochlear Account for them. When you set up the account you will be providing consent for your child to have full access to all app features. You will also be providing consent for their data to be synchronised to the Cochlear Cloud if the Data Sync feature is enabled.
When you create a Cochlear Account, we ask for your name, email address and date of birth. We use this information to associate your Cochlear Account with your Cochlear device registrations to help us provide the most relevant services to you. Additionally, your email address may be used for communications related to your Cochlear account and date of birth helps us ensure that child accounts are only created with the consent of a parent or guardian.
