Then We seized them with poverty and hardship that perhaps they might humble themselves to Us.

แล้วเราก็ได้ลงโทษพวกเขาด้วยความแร้นแค้นและการเจ็บป่วยเพื่อว่าพวกเขาจะได้นอบน้อม

Indeed We sent to nations before thee, and We seized them with misery and hardship that haply they might be humble;

และแท้จริงเราได้ส่งไปยังประชาชาติก่อนหน้าเจ้าแล้วเราก็ได้ลงโทษพวกเขาด้วยความแร้นแค้นและการเจ็บป่วยเพื่อว่าพวกเขาจะได้นอบน้อม

And certainly We sent(apostles) to nations before you then We seized them with distress and affliction in order that they might humble themselves.

และแท้จริงเราได้ส่งไปยังประชาชาติก่อนหน้าเจ้าแล้วเราก็ได้ลงโทษพวกเขาด้วยความแร้นแค้นและการเจ็บป่วยเพื่อว่าพวกเขาจะได้นอบน้อม

Yet there was not a sign that We showed them that was not greater than its sister, and We seized them with the punishment so that they might return.

และเรามิได้แสดงสัญญาณอันใดแก่พวกเขาเว้นแต่ว่าแต่ละอันจะยิ่งใหญ่กว่าอีกอันหนึ่งและเราได้คร่าพวกเขาด้วยการลงโทษหวังว่าพวกเขาจะกลับมาสำนึกผิด

And We showed them not a sign except that it was greater than its sister, and We seized them with affliction that perhaps they might return to faith.

และเรามิได้แสดงสัญญาณอันใดแก่พวกเขาเว้นแต่ว่าแต่ละอันจะยิ่งใหญ่กว่าอีกอันหนึ่งและเราได้คร่าพวกเขาด้วยการลงโทษหวังว่าพวกเขาจะกลับมาสำนึกผิด

Verily, We sent(Messengers) to many nations before you(O Muhammad SAW). And We seized them with extreme poverty(or loss in wealth) and loss in health with calamities so that they might believe with humility.

และแท้จริงเราได้ส่งไปยังประชาชาติก่อนหน้าเจ้าแล้วเราก็ได้ลงโทษพวกเขาด้วยความแร้นแค้นและการเจ็บป่วยเพื่อว่าพวกเขาจะได้นอบน้อม

Then changed We the evil plight for good till they grew affluent and said: Tribulation and distress did touch our fathers. Then We seized them unawares, when they perceived not.

So We seized each[of them] for his sin: among them were those upon whom We unleashed a rain of stones, and among them were those who were seized by the Cry, and among them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow, and among them were those whom We drowned. It was not Allah who wronged them, but it was they who used to wrong themselves.

และแต่ละคนเราได้ลงโทษด้วยความผิดของเขาเช่นบางคนในหมู่พวกเขาเราได้ส่งลมพายุร้ายทำลายเขาและบางคนในหมู่พวกเขาเราได้ลงโทษเขาด้วยเสียงกัมปนาทและบางคนในหมู่พวกเขาเราได้ให้แผ่นดินสูบเขาและบางคนในหมู่พวกเขาเราได้ให้เขาจมน้ำตายและอัลลอฮ์มิได้ทรงอธรรมแก่พวกเขาแต่พวกเขาต่างหากที่อธรรมต่อพวกเขาเอง

So each We seized for his sin; and among them were those upon whom We sent a storm of stones, and among them were those who were seized by the blast[from the sky], and among them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow, and among them were those whom We drowned. And Allah would not have wronged them, but it was they who were wronging themselves.

และแต่ละคนเราได้ลงโทษด้วยความผิดของเขาเช่นบางคนในหมู่พวกเขาเราได้ส่งลมพายุร้ายทำลายเขาและบางคนในหมู่พวกเขาเราได้ลงโทษเขาด้วยเสียงกัมปนาทและบางคนในหมู่พวกเขาเราได้ให้แผ่นดินสูบเขาและบางคนในหมู่พวกเขาเราได้ให้เขาจมน้ำตายและอัลลอฮ์มิได้ทรงอธรรมแก่พวกเขาแต่พวกเขาต่างหากที่อธรรมต่อพวกเขาเอง

Until, when We seize the decadent among them with torment, they begin to groan.
