And thou(Muhammad) wast not on the western side(of the Mount) when We expounded unto Moses the commandment, and thou wast not among those present;
اور تم غربی جانب نہیں تھے جب ہم نے موسیٰ کی طرف حکم بھیجا اور نہ اس واقعہ کو دیکھنے والے تھے

even as I created thee before, when thou wast naught.
میں پہلے تم کو بھی تو پیدا کرچکا ہوں اور تم کچھ چیز نہ تھے

Thou wast not upon the side of the Mount when We called; but for a mercy from thy Lord,
اور نہ تم اس وقت جب کہ ہم نے(موسٰی کو) آواز دی طور کے کنارے تھے بلکہ(تمہارا بھیجا جانا)

Thou wast not upon the side of the Mount when We called; but for a mercy from thy Lord, that thou mayest warn a people to whom no warner came before thee, and that haply they may remember.
اور نہ تم طور کے کنارے تھے جب ہم نے ندا فرمائی ہاں تمہارے رب کی مہر ہے(کہ تمہیں غیب کے علم دیے) کہ تم ایسی قوم کو ڈر سناؤ جس کے پاس تم سے پہلے کوئی ڈر سنانے والا نہ آیا یہ امید کرتے ہوئے کہ ان کو نصیحت ہو

Such is one of the stories of what happened unseen, which We reveal by inspiration unto thee; nor wast thou(present) with them then when they concerted their plans together in the process of weaving their plots.
یہ کچھ غیب کی خبریں ہیں جو ہم تمہاری طرف وحی کرتے ہیں اور تم ان کے پاس نہ تھے جب انہوں نے اپنا کام پکا کیا تھا اور وہ داؤں چل رہے تھے

(46)(46) Nor wast thou present on the side of the mount when we called unto Moses; but thou art sent as a mercy from thy Lord; that thou mightest preach unto a people to whom no preacher hath come before thee, that peradventure they may be warned.
اور تم طور کے کنارے نہ تھے جب ہم نے موسیٰ کو پکارا، لیکن یہ تمھارے رب کا انعام ہے، تاکہ تم ایک ایسی قوم کو ڈراؤ جن کے پاس تم سے پہلے کوئی ڈرانے والا نہیں آیا تاکہ وہ نصیحت پکڑیں۔(46

This is of the tidings of the unseen, which We reveal unto thee; nor wast thou with them when they resolved on their affair while they were plotting.
یہ کچھ غیب کی خبریں ہیں جو ہم تمہاری طرف وحی کرتے ہیں اور تم ان کے پاس نہ تھے جب انہوں نے اپنا کام پکا کیا تھا اور وہ داؤں چل رہے تھے

Nor wast thou at the side of(the Mountain of)
اور تو طور کے کنارے پر نہ تھا جب ہم نے آواز دی

long were the ages that passed over them; but thou wast not a dweller among the people of Madyan,
زمانہ گزر گیا اور آپ تو اہل مدین میں بھی مقیم نہیں تھے کہ انہیں ہماری آیتیں پڑھ کر سناتے

Nor wast thou beside the Tur when We called;
اور تو طور کے کنارے پر نہ تھا جب ہم نے آواز دی

And thou wast not hoping that the Book would be Inspired in thee; but it is a mercy from thy Lord, so be thou
اور آپ کو اس بات کی امید نہیں تھی کہ آپ پر(یہ) کتاب نازل کی جائے گی۔ یہ تو بس آپ کے پروردگار کی رحمت ہے۔

long were the ages that passed over them; but thou wast not a dweller among the people of Madyan, rehearsing Our Signs to them; but it is We Who send messengers(with inspiration).
ان پر زمانہ دراز گزرا اور نہ تم اہلِ مدین میں مقیم تھے ان پر ہماری آیتیں پڑھتے ہوئے، ہاں ہم رسول بنانے والے ہوئے

Nor wast thou beside the Tur when We called;
اور نہ تو طور کی طرف تھا جب کہ ہم نے آواز دی

of what happened unseen, which We reveal by inspiration unto thee; nor wast thou(present) with them then when they concerted their plans together in the process of weaving their plots.
ان کے پاس موجود نہ تھے جب وہ(برادرانِ یوسف) اپنی سازشی تدبیر پر جمع ہو رہے تھے اور وہ مکر و فریب کر رہے تھے

(That is of the tidings of the Unseen, that We reveal to thee; for thou wast not with them, when they were casting quills which of them should have charge of Mary; thou wast not with them, when they were disputing.).
یہ غیب کی خبریں ہیں ہم بذریعہ وحی تمہیں اطلاع دیتے ہیں اورتو ان کے پاس نہیں تھا جب اپنا قلم ڈالنے لگے تھے کہ مریم کی کون پرورش کرے اور تو ان کے پاس نہیں تھا جب کہ وہ جھگڑتے تھے

should have charge of Mary; thou wast not with them, when they were disputing.).
مریم کی کفالت کون کرے گا اور آپ ان کے پاس نہیں تھے جب وہ اس موضوع پر جھگڑا کررہے تھے

Thou wast not with them when they cast lots with arrows,
اور آپ تو ان لوگوں کے پاس تھے نہیں اس وقت جب وہ اپنے قلم ڈال رہے تھے'

But Allah was not going to send them a penalty whilst thou wast amongst them; nor was He going to send it whilst they could ask for pardon.
اُس وقت تو اللہ ان پر عذاب نازل کرنے والا نہ تھا جبکہ تو ان کے درمیان موجود تھا اور نہ اللہ کا یہ قاعدہ ہے کہ لوگ استغفار کر رہے ہوں اور وہ ان کو عذاب دیدے
