As a message to Africa as a whole, Prime Minister Abe delivered a policy speech titled“Japan's Diplomacy towards Africa: Strengthening Each Individual, One by One” at the headquarters of the African Union(AU).
Prime Minister Abe commented that Japan and Germany are global partners which share fundamental values and have important roles to play in addressing the issues facing the international society as major leaders in Asia and Europe.
In his speech, Prime Minister Abe mentioned that peace and stability of the two seas, which are the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, is crucial for prosperity and security of the two countries.
Prime Minister Abe expressed Japan's intention to cooperate with Pacific countries for the reduction of fossil fuels consumption in the FICs with the aim of improving their energy security and contributing to reduction of greenhouse gases GHG.
At the last session of the UN General Assembly, Japan hosted a side event entitled"Post-2015: Health and Development" at which Prime Minister Abe made a commitment to promote the mainstreaming of UHC beyond 2015.

President Trump and Prime Minister Abe affirmed that infrastructure projects in the Indo-Pacific should be market-based, clean and transparent, responsibly financed, and feature open and fair access, social and environmental considerations, and standards of good governance.
