Examples of using Documentation and publications in English and their translations into Arabic

The principles underlying UNCTAD's publications policy and the guidelines governing their implementation are contained in the Report on documentation and publications( TD/ B/ EX( 15) /5), which was endorsed by the Secretary-General of UNCTAD in May 1997.

This is a problem felt acutely by all intergovernmental bodies and regional organizations. Travel resources of $41,100, at the maintenance level, are required for the coordination of activities with the management of the Department, participation in the Inter-Agency Meeting on Language Arrangements, Documentation and Publications, the Joint Inter-Agency Meeting on Computer-Assisted Translation and Terminology and various international meetings related to new technologies, interpretation, translation, terminology and publication issues.

However, as noted with remarkable candour in a report submitted at a session of the Inter-Agency Meeting on Language Arrangements, Documentation and Publications(IAMLADP) in July 1997, self-revision is a euphemism for“no revision”and it is clear that there must be limits in terms of who is entrusted with self-revision and what material is suitable for self-revision in order to avoid a negative impact on quality.
