And when there came to them a Messenger from Allah(i.e. Muhammad Peace be upon him) confirming what was with them, a party of those who were given the Scripture threw away the Book of Allah behind their backs as if they did not know!
اور جب ان کے پاس الله کی طرف سے پیغمبر(آخرالزماں) آئے، اور وہ ان کی(آسمانی) کتاب کی بھی تصدیق کرتے ہیں تو جن لوگوں کو کتاب دی گئی تھی، ان میں سے ایک جماعت نے خدا کی کتاب کو پیٹھ پیچھے پھینک دیا، گویا وہ جانتے ہی نہیں!

and not conceal it.' But they rejected it behind their backs and sold it for a small price-- how evil was that their selling!
سامنے کھول کر بیان کروگے۔ اور اسے ہرگز نہیں چھپاؤگے مگر انہوں نے اسے اپنے پس پشت ڈال دیا۔ اور اس کے عوض تھوڑی سی قیمت وصول کرلی۔ کتنا برا کاروبار ہے جو یہ کر رہے ہیں۔!

whereafter they cast it behind their backs, and bartered it for a small price.
اسے ہرگز نہیں چھپاؤگے مگر انہوں نے اسے اپنے پس پشت ڈال دیا۔

not hide it. Then they cast the Book behind their backs, and sold it away for a trivial gain.

And remember when Allah took a covenant from the People given the Book(s) that,“You shall definitely preach it to the people and not hide it”; so they flung it behind their backs and gained an abject price for it; so what a wretched bargain it is!
اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے جب اہل کتاب سے عہد لیا کہ تم اسے سب لوگوں سے ضرور بیان کرو گے اور اسے چھپاؤ گے نہیں، تو پھر بھی ان لوگوں نے اس عہد کو اپنی پیٹھ پیچھے ڈال دیا اور اسے بہت کم قیمت پر بیچ ڈاﻻ۔ ان کا یہ بیوپار بہت برا ہے!

اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے جب اہل کتاب سے عہد لیا کہ تم اسے سب لوگوں سے ضرور بیان کرو گے اور اسے چھپاؤ گے نہیں، تو پھر بھی ان لوگوں نے اس عہد کو اپنی پیٹھ پیچھے ڈال دیا اور اسے بہت کم قیمت پر بیچ ڈاﻻ۔ ان کا یہ بیوپار بہت برا ہے!
