Article The action required to carry out the decisions of the Security Council for the maintenance of international peace and security shall be taken by all the Members of the United Nations or by some of them, as the Security Council may determine.
We express our concern at the continued proliferation of means of delivery capable of delivering weapons of mass destruction(WMD), which creates a threat to international peace and security, as recognized by UN Security Council Resolutions 1540, 1887, and 1977.
Reaffirming the need to combat by all means, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and international law, threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts, and stressing in this regard the important role the United Nations plays in leading and coordinating this effort.
