Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world"(John 1:29) is a favorite text with Gospel preachers because without it they have little to say to troubled sinners.
Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; 36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! 37 And the two disciples heard him speak.
Dr. J. Vernon McGee said,"During the last three hours, that cross became an altar on which the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world was offered.

They ate a special meal of lamb and unleavened bread and read this passage of Scripture at the Passover season, in remembrance of their deliverance from Egyptian slavery.
