The SBSTA agreed to continue this work at its twenty-first session, with a view to recommending a decision on simplified modalities and procedures for small-scale afforestation and reforestation project activities under the CDM and on measures to facilitate the implementation of these project activities, for adoption by the COP at its tenth session.

ATTACHMENT A TO APPENDIX B(The attachment A to appendix B, referred to in paragraph 20 of the simplified modalities and procedures for small-scale afforestation and reforestation project activities under the CDM, shall be developed by the Executive Board, taking into consideration the existing list of barriers for non-afforestation and reforestation CDM project activities, as contained in attachment A to appendix B of annex II to decision 21/CP.8.).

The SBSTA requested the secretariat to prepare documentation on any administrative and budgetary implications, in accordance with decision 16/CP.9, resulting from the adoption of a decision on simplified modalities and procedures for small-scale afforestation and reforestation project activities under the CDM and on measures to facilitate the implementation of these project activities, for consideration by the SBSTA at its twenty-first session.

وطلبت الهيئة الفرعية من الأمانة أن تُعدَّ وثائق بشأن أية آثار إدارية وآثار على الميزانية، وفقاً للمقرر 16/م أ-9، تترتب على اعتماد مقرر بشأن الطرائق والإجراءات المبسطة فيما يتعلق بأنشطة المشاريع الصغيرة للتحريج وإعادة التحريج في إطار آلية التنمية النظيفة وبشأن تدابير تيسير تنفيذ أنشطة المشاريع هذه، وذلك كي تنظر فيها الهيئة الفرعية في دورتها الحادية والعشرين

Action: The SBSTA may wish to further consider the draft negotiating text prepared at SBSTA 20 and the information contained in the document mentioned below, and to forward a draft decision on simplified modalities and procedures for small-scale afforestation and reforestation project activities under the CDM, and on measures to facilitate their implementation, for adoption by the COP at its tenth session.

Requests the secretariat to prepare a technical paper on simplified modalities and procedures for small-scale afforestation and reforestation project activities under the clean development mechanism, taking into account submissions referred to in paragraph 3 above and relevant work by the Executive Board, to be considered by the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice at its twentieth session;

At its 6th meeting, on 17- 18 December, the Conference, acting upon a recommendation by the SBSTA, adopted decision 14/CP.10 entitled" Simplified modalities and procedures for small-scale afforestation and reforestation project activities under the clean development mechanism in the first commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol and measures to facilitate their implementation"(FCCC/CP/2004/10/Add.2).

وفي الجلسة السادسة، المعقودة في 17-18 كانون الأول/ديسمبر، قام المؤتمر، بناء على توصية من الهيئة الفرعية للمشورة العلمية والتكنولوجية() باعتماد المقرر 14/م أ-10 المعنون" الطرائق والإجراءات المبسطة لأنشطة المشاريع الصغيرة للتحريج وإعادة التحريج في إطار آلية التنمية النظيفة في فترة الالتزام الأولى لبروتوكول كيوتو والتدابير اللازمة لتيسير تنفيذ أنشطة المشاريع هذه"( FCCC/ CP/ 2004/ 10/ A dd .2

The proposed project activity conforms to all requirements, including monitoring, verification and reporting, for afforestation and reforestation project activities under the CDM in decision 19/CP.9, its annex on modalities and procedures for afforestation and reforestation project activities under the CDM that are not replaced by these simplified modalities and procedures, and relevant decisions by the COP/MOP and the Executive Board.
