آپہنچے۔ اسی طرح اُن لوگوں نے کیا تھا جو اُن سے پہلے تھے اور خدا نے اُن پر ظلم نہیں کیا بلکہ وہ خود اپنے آپ پر ظلم کرتے تھے

the truth was Allah's, and astray will go from them that which they were wont to fabricate.
جو کچھ وہ افتراء کیا کرتے تھے ان سے جاتا رہے گا

already recounted unto thee; and We wronged them not, but themselves they were wont to Wrong.
اُن کا اپنا ہی ظلم تھا جو وہ اپنے اوپر کر رہے تھے

اس جہّنم کے عذاب کا مزہ چکھو جس کی تکذیب کیا کرتے تھے

And those who have been vouchsafed knowledge and belief will say: assuredly ye have tarried according to the decree of Allah until the Day of Upraising; so this is the Day of Upraising, but ye were wont not to know.
اور بولے وہ جن کو علم اور ایمان مِلا بیشک تم رہے اللہ کے لکھے ہوئے میں اٹھنے کے دن تک تو یہ ہے وہ دن اٹھنے کا لیکن تم نہ جانتے تھے

ye shall be questioned not of that which they were wont to Work.
پوچھا جائے گا کہ وہ کیا کرتے تھے

assuredly ye have tarried according to the decree of Allah until the Day of Upraising; so this is the Day of Upraising, but ye were wont not to know.
گئے تھے وہ کہیں گے کہ خدا کے نوشتے میں تو تم روزِ حشر تک پڑے رہے ہو، سو یہ وہی روزِ حشر ہے، لیکن تم جانتے نہ تھے

they exulted in the knowledge they(themselves) possessed. And that which they were wont to mock befell them.
جس چیز سے تمسخر کیا کرتے تھے اس نے ان کو آ گھیرا

Then those of them who did wrong changed the word that had been told them for anot her, whereupon We sent upon them a scourge from the heaven for they were wont to transgress.
سو ان میں سے ظالموں نے دوسرا لفظ اس کے سوا بدل دیا جو ان سے کہا گیا تھا پھر ہم نے ان پر آسمان سے عذاب بھیجا اس لیے کہ وہ ظلم کرتے تھے

اور ہم نے تم پر بادل کا سایہ کیا اور تم پر من و سلویٰ اتارا(اور کہہ دیا) کہ ہماری دی ہوئی پاکیزه چیزیں کھاؤ، اور انہوں نے ہم پر ﻇلم نہیں کیا، البتہ وه خود اپنی جانوں پر ﻇلم کرتے تھے
