Does one of you like that he should have a garden of palms and vines with streams flowing beneath it; he has in it all kinds of fruits; and old age has overtaken him and he has weak offspring, when,(lo!) a whirlwind with fire in it smites it so it becomes blasted; thus Allah makes the communications clear to you, that you may reflect.
あなたがたの中，ナツメヤシやブドウの園を持ち，川が下を流れ，そこに凡ての果実があっても，自分は既に年老い，その子はまだ幼弱でおまけに旋風が猛火を伴ってきて，（全部）焼き払うようなことを望む者があろうか。このようにアッラーは，あなたがたに印を説き明かされる。恐らくあなたがたは反省するであろう。

They ask you(O Muhammad SAW) concerning alcoholic drink and gambling. Say:"In them is a great sin, and(some) benefit for men, but the sin of them is greater than their benefit." And they ask you what they ought to spend. Say:"That which is beyond your needs." Thus Allah makes clear to you His Laws in order that you may give thought.
かれらは酒と，賭矢に就いてあなたに問うであろう。言ってやるがいい。「それらは大きな罪であるが，人間のために（多少の）益もある。だがその罪は，益よりも大である。」またかれらは，何を施すべきかを，あなたに問うであろう。その時は，「何でも余分のものを。」と言ってやるがいい。このようにアッラーは，印をあなたがたに明示される。恐らくあなたがたは反省するであろう，。

Hold fast together to the cable of Allah and be not divided. Remember the blessing that Allah bestowed upon you: you were once enemies then He brought your hearts together, so that through His blessing you became brothers. You stood on the brink of a pit of fire and He delivered you from it. Thus Allah makes His signs clear to you that you may be guided to the right way.
あなたがたはアッラーの絆に皆でしっかりと縋り，分裂してはならない。そしてあなたがたに対するアッラーの恩恵を心に銘じなさい。初めあなたがたが（互いに）敵であった時かれはあなたがたの心を（愛情で）結び付け，その御恵みによりあなたがたは兄弟となったのである。あなたがたが火獄の穴の辺りにいたのを，かれがそこから救い出されたのである。このようにアッラーは，あなたがたのために印を明示される。きっとあなたがたは正しく導かれるであろう。

They ask you about wine and gambling. Say,"In them is great sin and[yet, some] benefit for people. But their sin is greater than their benefit." And they ask you what they should spend. Say,"The excess[beyond needs]." Thus Allah makes clear to you the verses[of revelation] that you might give thought.
かれらは酒と，賭矢に就いてあなたに問うであろう。言ってやるがいい。「それらは大きな罪であるが，人間のために（多少の）益もある。だがその罪は，益よりも大である。」またかれらは，何を施すべきかを，あなたに問うであろう。その時は，「何でも余分のものを。」と言ってやるがいい。このようにアッラーは，印をあなたがたに明示される。恐らくあなたがたは反省するであろう，。

And hold fast, all of you together, to the cable of Allah, and do not separate. And remember Allah's favour unto you: How ye were enemies and He made friendship between your hearts so that ye became as brothers by His grace; and(how) ye were upon the brink of an abyss of fire, and He did save you from it. Thus Allah maketh clear His revelations unto you, that haply ye may be guided.
