The General Assembly is requested to authorize the Secretary-General to enter into commitments not exceeding $2,122,700 for the additional staff and non-staff costs for the standing police capacity and to report thereon to the Assembly in the context of the performance report for the period from 1 July 2005 to 30 June 2006.
The General Assembly, in its resolution 54/243, approved the additional 67 posts requested and authorized the Secretary-General to enter into commitments not exceeding $3,501,600 for the additional staff costs and to report thereon to the Assembly in the context of the performance report for the period from 1 July 1999 to 30 June 2000.
B/ Pursuant to Section IV of General Assembly resolution 49/233 A of 23 December 1994, the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions concurred with the Secretary General ' s request to enter into commitments not exceeding $47,462,700 for the period from 1 August 2003 to 31 December 2003.

The Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions(ACABQ) authorized the Secretary-General to enter into commitments not exceeding $4.6 million for the initial requirements of UNAMIR, for the period from 5 October to 30 November 1993, under the provision of General Assembly resolution 46/187 of 20 December 1991 on unforeseen and extraordinary expenses.
