The Task Force stressed that, as much as possible, ECA activities should be carried out through or in cooperation with subregional or regional institutions so as to strengthen their integrating role. 12/ The ECA Conference of Ministers, in its resolution 726(XXVII) of 22 April 1992, requested the Executive Secretary to undertake, as might become necessary, reforms in the structure of the secretariat so as to achieve full consistency with the new orientations recommended.

As a matter of drafting, the Secretariat was requested to ensure full consistency between the text of paragraphs(3) and(5).
