In September 2010 the States Members of the United Nations, at the High-level Review Meeting on the Implementation of the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States(Mauritius+5), called for coordinated, balanced and integrated actions with the aim
international institutions give priority to the implementation of Agenda 21, the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation and other commitments made during the World Summit on Sustainable Development, and the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States.
I should be grateful if you would circulate the present letter and its annex as a document of the General Assembly and bring it to the attention of the high-level review of the sixty-fifth session of the General Assembly to assess progress made in addressing the vulnerabilities of small island developing States through the implementation of the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States.
Development(Johannesburg Plan of Implementation), and other commitments made during the World Summit on Sustainable Development and the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States(the Mauritius Strategy).
We welcome the decision to convene the third International Conference for Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States, to be held in 2014, in Apia, and call for enhanced efforts to assist small island developing States in implementing the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States and the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States.
Objective of the Organization: To effectively address the priority areas of the Pacific subregion in the formulation and implementation of inclusive and sustainable development policies for the achievement of internationally agreed development goals, including the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States, the Istanbul Programme of Action for the Least Developed Countries for the Decade 2011-2020 and the Millennium Development Goals.

expected accomplishments on the assumption that Governments, international institutions, the United Nations system and other stakeholders give priority to the implementation of Agenda 21, the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation and other commitments made during the World Summit on Sustainable Development, and the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States.
Emphasis will also be placed on promoting and supporting the effective, coherent and coordinated implementation of the sustainable development agenda of the United Nations, including the outcomes of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States and the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States at the national, subregional and regional levels.
(c) Other relevant intergovernmental organizations that were accredited to the World Summit on Sustainable Development, the International Meeting to Review the Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States, the high-level review meeting on the implementation of the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States, and the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development; .
Reaffirming also the Mauritius Declaration and the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States(“Mauritius Strategy for Implementation”), adopted by the International Meeting to Review the Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States on 14 January 2005, and recalling its resolution 59/311 of 14 July 2005, in which it endorsed the outcomes of the International Meeting.
Reaffirming also the Mauritius Declaration and the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States('Mauritius Strategy for Implementation '), adopted by the International Meeting to Review the Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States on 14 January 2005, and recalling its resolutions 59/311 of 14 July 2005 and 60/194 of 22 December 2005.
On the same date, the General Assembly also adopted resolution 57/262, entitled" Further implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States", in which it decided to convene an international meeting in 2004, pursuant to the recommendation of the Johannesburg Summit, to undertake a comprehensive review of implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States.72 Mauritius offered to host the meeting.
