يتشرف اﻷمين العام بأن يحيل إلى أعضاء الجمعية العامة هذا التقرير المرحلي عن القضاء على جميع أشكال التعصب الديني، الذي أعده السيد عبد الفتاح عمر، المقرر الخاص للجنة حقوق اﻹنسان، وفقا لقرار الجمعية العامة ٥٠/١٨٣ المؤرخ ٢٢ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٥Recalling also its resolution 36/55 of 25 November 1981, by which it proclaimed the Declaration on the Elimination of All Forms of Intolerance and of Discrimination Based on Religion or Belief, and its resolution 55/97 of 4 December 2000 on the elimination of all forms of religious intolerance.
وإذ تشير أيضا إلى قرارها 36/55 المؤرخ 25 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 1981 الذي أصدرت بموجبه الإعلان المتعلق بالقضاء He reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's commitment to tolerance and noted with satisfaction that the Special Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights on the elimination of all forms of religious intolerance had thanked the Saudi Arabian authorities, in paragraph 48 of his report at the previous session(A/52/477), for their cooperation in the human rights area.
وأكد مجددا التزام المملكة العربية السعودية بالتسامح وأشار بارتياح إلى أن المقرر الخاص للجنة حقوق اﻹنسان المعني بالقضاء على جميع أشكال التعصب الديني أشاد بسلطات المملكة العربية السعودية، في الفقرة ٤٨ من تقريره المقدم إلى الجمعية العامة في الدورة السابقة A/52/477 لتجاوبها في مجال حقوق اﻹنسانMs. Jahangir(Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief), introducing her interim report on the elimination of all forms of religious intolerance(A/59/366), said that, since her appointment in July 2004, she had met with a number of NGOs and representatives of religious communities, as well as members of the Commission on Human Rights.
