اور اگر وہ ایمان لے آتے اور پرہیزگاری اختیار کرتے تو اللہ کی بارگاہ سے(تھوڑا سا) ثواب(بھی ان سب چیزوں سے) کہیں بہتر ہوتا، کاش!

میں بےخبر تھے()۹۵اگر ان بستیوں کے لوگ ایمان لے آتے اور پرہیزگار ہوجاتے۔ تو ہم ان

یعنی آیت کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ جو یہودی نزول عیسیٰ علیہ السلام کے وقت موجود ہوں گے وہ ایمان لائیں گے۔

And when Our Order came, We saved with mercy from Us, Hūd and those who with him had believed.
اور جب ہمارا حکم آپہنچا تو ہم نے ہود کو اور اس کے مسلمان ساتھیوں کو اپنی خاص رحمت سے نجات عطا فرمائی

And what would they lose, if they had believed in Allah and the Last Day and spent from what Allah has bestowed upon them?
اور ان کا کیا نقصان ہوتا اگر وہ اللہ اور روزِ آخرت پر ایمان لاتے اور جو کچھ اللہ نے انہیں عطا کیا ہے اس میں سے کچھ(راہِ خدا میں)

And what would they lose, if they had believed in Allah and the Last Day and spent from what Allah has bestowed upon them? And Allah knows them very well.
بھلا ان کا کیا نقصان تھا اگر یہ اللہ تعالیٰ پر اور قیامت کے دن پر ایمان ﻻتے اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے جو انہیں دے رکھا ہے اس میں خرچ کرتے، اللہ تعالیٰ انہیں خوب جاننے واﻻ ہے

And if the people of the towns had believed and had the Taqwa(piety),
اور اگر ان بستیوں کے باشندے ایمان لاتے اور پرہیزگاری اختیار کرتے

If only they had believed in Allah, in the Prophet, and in what hath been revealed to him, never would they
اگر انہیں اللہ تعالیٰ پر اور نبی پر اور جو نازل کیا گیا ہے اس پر ایمان ہوتا تو یہ کفار سے دوستیاں نہ کرتے،
