The Chair of the Audit Operations Committee of the Board of Auditors, Mr. Hugh O ' Farrell(United Kingdom), introduced the note by the Secretary-General transmitting the third progress report of the Board of Auditors on the implementation of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards as at 30 June 2013(A/68/161).

Introducing the third progress report on the enterprise resource planning project(A/66/381), she said that the overall level of resources for implementation of the project, known as Umoja, remained unchanged at $315,792,300, which would be funded in accordance with the existing cost-sharing formula of 15 per cent from the regular budget, 62 per cent from the support account for peacekeeping operations and 23 per cent from extrabudgetary resources.

The main priorities of the Field Personnel Division for the 2014/15 period are to continue to provide dedicated support in the area of human resources services to United Nations peacekeeping operations, to attract and retain the best talent and to implement all aspects with regard to the integrated human resources management framework component of the global field support strategy as outlined in the third progress report on its implementation(A/65/643).

The Security Council resumed its consideration of the item at its 3964th meeting, held on 12 January 1999 in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations, having before it the third progress report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Observer Mission in Sierra Leone(S/1998/1176) and the special report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Observer Mission in Sierra Leone(S/1999/20).

It will be recalled that the third progress report outlined a revised implementation approach(see A/66/381, sect. IV). It strengthened the original Umoja vision of driving administrative reform and organizational transformation as mapped out in the 321 identified" to-be" business processes, but it was to be rolled out in functional subsets rather than released in a single, comprehensive solution.

(a) Take note of the Secretary-General ' s third progress report on the implementation of the Umoja project taking into account the views and recommendations in the present report, in particular the recommendation in paragraph 19 above that the Secretary-General provide a permanent governance structure for the Umoja project no later than at the first part of the resumed sixty-sixth session of the General Assembly;
