But[insolently] they said,"Our Lord, lengthen the distance between our journeys," and wronged themselves, so We made them narrations and dispersed them in total dispersion. Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.
അപ്പോള്‍ അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു:" ഞങ്ങളുടെ നാഥാ, ഞങ്ങളുടെ യാത്രാ താവളങ്ങള്‍ക്കിടയില്‍ നീ ദൂരം വര്‍ധിപ്പിച്ചുതരേണമേ." അങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ തങ്ങള്‍ക്കുതന്നെ ദ്രോഹം വരുത്തുകയായിരുന്നു. അവസാനം നാമവരെ കേവലം കഥകളാക്കി. അപ്പാടെ ഛിന്നഭിന്നമാക്കി. നിശ്ചയമായും നല്ല ക്ഷമാശീലര്‍ക്കും നന്ദിയുള്ളവര്‍ക്കും ഇതില്‍ ധാരാളം ദൃഷ്ടാന്തങ്ങളുണ്ട്.

And We did not oppress them at all, but it is they who wronged themselves- therefore their deities, whom they worshipped other than Allah, did not in the least benefit them when your Lord's command came; and due to them, they increased nothing but ruin.
നാം അവരോട് ഒരതിക്രമവും കാണിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. അവര്‍ തങ്ങളോടുതന്നെ അതിക്രമം കാണിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. നിന്റെ നാഥന്റെ വിധിവന്നു. അപ്പോള്‍ അല്ലാഹുവെ വിട്ട് അവര്‍ പ്രാര്‍ഥിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന ദൈവങ്ങള്‍ക്കൊന്നും അവര്‍ക്കൊരുപകാരവും ചെയ്യാനായില്ല. അവര്‍ക്കവ നാശമല്ലാതൊന്നും വര്‍ധിപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തതുമില്ല.

We did not wrong them; they wronged themselves. When your Lord's chastisement descended upon them, their gods, on whom they called apart from God, were not of the least avail, and all they did was only

We did not wrong them; they wronged themselves; the deities they called on besides God availed them nothing: when God's command came upon them, they only added to their ruin.
നാം അവരോട് അക്രമം ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല. പക്ഷെ അവര്‍ അവരോട് തന്നെ അക്രമം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുകയാണുണ്ടായത്‌. എന്നാല്‍ നിന്‍റെ രക്ഷിതാവിന്‍റെ കല്‍പന വന്ന സമയത്ത് അല്ലാഹുവിന് പുറമെ അവര്‍ വിളിച്ച് പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിച്ച് കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന അവരുടെ ദൈവങ്ങള്‍ അവര്‍ക്ക് യാതൊരു ഉപകാരവും ചെയ്തില്ല. അവര്‍( ദൈവങ്ങള്‍) അവര്‍ക്ക് നാശം വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുക മാത്രമാണ് ചെയ്തത്‌.

And those, who, when they have done an ill-deed or wronged themselves, remember Allah and ask forgiveness of their sins- and who forgiveth sins save Allah! Is--and persist not in that which they have done.
വല്ല നീചകൃത്യവും ചെയ്യുകയോ, തങ്ങളോടുതന്നെ ‎എന്തെങ്കിലും അതിക്രമം കാണിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്താല്‍ ‎അപ്പോള്‍തന്നെ അല്ലാഹുവെ ഓര്‍ക്കുന്നവരാണവര്‍; ‎തങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മാപ്പിരക്കുന്നവരും. പാപങ്ങള്‍ ‎പൊറുക്കാന്‍ അല്ലാഹുവല്ലാതെ ആരുണ്ട്? ‎അവരൊരിക്കലും തങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്തുപോയ തെറ്റുകളില്‍ ‎ബോധപൂര്‍വം ഉറച്ചുനില്‍ക്കുകയില്ല.

And We did not wrong them, but they wronged themselves. And they were not availed at all by their gods which they invoked other than Allah when there came the command of your Lord. And they did not
