In connection with the list of candidates mentioned in annex III to document CCPR/SP/50, the Permanent Mission of Jordan to the United Nations Office at Geneva has informed the Secretariat, in a note dated 16 September 1997, that the Government of Jordan has decided to withdraw the nomination of Mr. Mohammed Tarawneh as its candidate in the forthcoming elections to the Human Rights Committee.

Addendum In connection with the list of candidates mentioned in annex III to document CCPR/SP/48, the Permanent Mission of Peru to the United Nations Office at Geneva has informed the Secretariat, in a note dated 23 August 1996, that the Government of Peru has decided to withdraw the nomination of Mr. José Urrutia Ceruti as its candidate in the forthcoming elections to the Human Rights Committee.
