The Open-ended Intergovernmental Working Group on Technical Assistance of the Conference and the international cooperation workshop on technical assistance for the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption which UNODC had convened in June 2007 had agreed that the Convention should be incorporated in the relevant development assistance programmes and be an integral part of overall governance programmes.

Reaffirms, consistent with the terms of reference, the request contained in Conference resolution 3/4 for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime to continue to provide technical assistance for the implementation of the Convention, including by providing direct expertise on policy or capacity-building through the Office ' s thematic programme on action against corruption and economic crime and, where appropriate, regional programmes, using its range of technical assistance tools;

The Group reaffirmed the request in Resolution 3/4 of the Conference of the States Parties that UNODC continue to provide technical assistance for the implementation of the Convention, including by providing direct expertise on both policy and capacity-building activities through the UNODC thematic programme on action against corruption and economic crime and, where appropriate, through regional programmes, using its range of technical assistance tools.

Requests UNCTAD, in accordance with the Doha Mandate, to continue providing support in trade and transport facilitation, including customs automation and technical assistance and capacity-building towards the implementation of multilateral and regional trade-facilitation agreements, and encourages all stakeholders in a position to do so to provide further technical assistance for the implementation and follow-up of its work in this regard.
