In accordance with resolution 57/270 B of 23 June 2003, the General Assembly decided to consider under this item the chapters of the annual report of the Economic and Social Council relevant to the integrated and coordinated implementation of and follow-up to the outcomes of the major United Nations conferences and summits, including through the participation in its discussions of the President of the Council.
At its sixty-seventh session, the General Assembly decided to consider, at its sixty-ninth session, under the item entitled" Elimination of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance", the reports of the Committee on its eighty-first and eighty-second and its eighty-third and eighty-fourth sessions, the report of the Secretary-General on the financial situation of the Committee and the report of the Secretary-General on the status of the Convention(resolution 67/156).
At its sixty-seventh session, the General Assembly decided to consider, at its sixty-ninth session, under the item entitled" Elimination of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance", the reports of the Committee on its eighty-first and eighty-second and its eighty-third and eighty-fourth sessions, the report of the Secretary-General on the financial situation of the Committee and the report of the Secretary-General on the status of the Convention.
At its fifty-sixth session, the General Assembly decided to consider the further development of a new international development strategy during its fifty-seventh session; and requested the Secretary-General to provide the Assembly at that session with an overview of the challenges and constraints as well as progress made towards achieving the major development goals and objectives adopted by the United Nations during the decade of the 1990s(resolution 56/191).
The General Assembly decided to consider at its fifty-second session the convening of an international conference on the financing of development, and requested the Secretary-General to submit to the Assembly at that session a report on substantive areas, including the consideration of aspects of interrelatedness and coordination necessary as a basis for the full consideration of the issue of financing of development and its potential funding sources(resolution 50/93).
In paragraphs 1 and 2 of its resolution 52/151, entitled“Convention on jurisdictional immunities of States and their property”, the General Assembly decided to consider the item again at its fifty-third session with a view to the establishment of a working group at its fifty-fourth session, taking into account the comments submitted by States in accordance with resolution 49/61, and urged States, if they had not yet done so, to submit to the Secretary-General their comments referred to in paragraph 2 of resolution 49/61.
At its forty-sixth session, in 1991, the General Assembly decided to consider the item related to the United Nations pension system in even-numbered years(resolution 46/220), with the arrangement, however, that the review and approval of all matters related to the expenses of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund, including the biennial budgets of the Fund, would be taken up by the Fifth Committee and the Assembly under the agenda item for the United Nations biennial programme budget(see A/54/206).
