With reference to paragraphs 2, 3 and 181 of my report on oceans and the law of the sea( A/67/79/Add.1), I am pleased to report that, on 24 September 2012, Swaziland ratified the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 10 December 1982 and Ecuador acceded to it, bringing the number of parties to the Convention to 164, including the European Union, and the number of parties to the Agreement relating to the implementation of Part XI of the Convention to 143.
