Examples of using The draft protocols in English and their translations into Arabic

At its eighth session, held in Vienna from 27 April to 6 May 1999, the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice recommended to the General Assembly, through the Economic and Social Council, the adoption of a resolution on the draft United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and the draft protocols thereto.

At its fifth session, held in Vienna from 4 to 15 October 1999, the Ad Hoc Committee on the Elaboration of a Convention against Transnational Organized Crime decided that at its sixth session it would devote part of its informal consultations to an overview of provisions that could be considered common to the draft Convention and the draft Protocols thereto.

At the same meeting, the General Assembly decided, on the recommendation of the General Committee(A/55/250/Add.1, para. 2), to also consider agenda item 105(Crime prevention and criminal justice) directly in plenary meeting, for the sole purpose of taking action on the draft United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and the draft protocols thereto.

However, for the reasons already stated above, the current texts of the draft Protocols are not consistent with each other or with the draft Convention. The economy of the texts and standard practice regarding the structure of international legal instruments would require that the draft Protocols contain such final provisions.

At the same meeting, the General Committee considered a request contained in a letter dated 25 September 2000 from the Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nations addressed to the President of the General Assembly(A/55/417) and decided to recommend to the Assembly that agenda item 105, entitled" Crime prevention and criminal justice", also be considered directly in plenary meeting for the sole purpose of taking action on the draft United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and the draft protocols thereto.

Section 2. Recommendations concerning the Draft Protocol on the Privileges and Immunities of the Tribunal.
