And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. അങ്ങനെ ആ വിലക്കപ്പെട്ടമാസങ്ങള്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞാല്‍ ആ ബഹുദൈവവിശ്വാസികളെ നിങ്ങള്‍ കണ്ടെത്തിയേടത്ത് വെച്ച് കൊന്നുകളയുക. അവരെ പിടികൂടുകയും വളയുകയും അവര്‍ക്കുവേണ്ടി പതിയിരിക്കാവുന്നിടത്തെല്ലാം പതിയിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക. ഇനി അവര്‍ പശ്ചാത്തപിക്കുകയും നമസ്കാരം മുറപോലെ നിര്‍വഹിക്കുകയും സകാത്ത് നല്‍കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന പക്ഷം നിങ്ങള്‍ അവരുടെ വഴി ഒഴിവാക്കികൊടുക്കുക. തീര്‍ച്ചയായും അല്ലാഹു ഏറെ പൊറുക്കുന്നവനും കരുണാനിധിയുമാണ്‌.

എങ്ങനെയാണ് ആ ബഹുദൈവവിശ്വാസികള്‍ക്ക് അല്ലാഹുവിന്‍റെ അടുക്കലും അവന്‍റെ ദൂതന്‍റെ അടുക്കലും ഉടമ്പടി നിലനില്‍ക്കുക?

Then when the sacred months have passed, slay the polytheists wherever you find them, and catch them and make them captive, and wait in ambush for them at every place; then if they repent and keep the prayer established and pay the charity, leave their way free; indeed Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.
അങ്ങനെ ആ വിലക്കപ്പെട്ടമാസങ്ങള്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞാല്‍ ആ ബഹുദൈവവിശ്വാസികളെ നിങ്ങള്‍ കണ്ടെത്തിയേടത്ത് വെച്ച് കൊന്നുകളയുക. അവരെ പിടികൂടുകയും വളയുകയും അവര്‍ക്കുവേണ്ടി പതിയിരിക്കാവുന്നിടത്തെല്ലാം പതിയിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക. ഇനി അവര്‍ പശ്ചാത്തപിക്കുകയും നമസ്കാരം മുറപോലെ നിര്‍വഹിക്കുകയും സകാത്ത് നല്‍കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന പക്ഷം നിങ്ങള്‍ അവരുടെ വഴി ഒഴിവാക്കികൊടുക്കുക. തീര്‍ച്ചയായും അല്ലാഹു ഏറെ പൊറുക്കുന്നവനും കരുണാനിധിയുമാണ്‌.

You shall certainly be tried respecting your wealth and your souls, and you shall certainly hear from those who have been given the Book before you and from those who are polytheists much annoying talk; and if you are patient and guard(against evil), surely this is one of the affairs(which should be) determined upon.
തീര്‍ച്ചയായും നിങ്ങളുടെ സമ്പത്തിലും ശരീരത്തിലും ‎നിങ്ങള്‍ പരീക്ഷണ വിധേയരാകും. നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കുമുമ്പെ ‎വേദം ലഭിച്ചവരില്‍ നിന്നും ബഹുദൈവ വിശ്വാസികളില്‍ ‎നിന്നും നിങ്ങള്‍ ധാരാളം ചീത്തവാക്കുകള്‍ ‎കേള്‍ക്കേണ്ടിവരും. അപ്പോഴൊക്കെ നിങ്ങള്‍ ‎ക്ഷമപാലിക്കുകയും സൂക്ഷ്മത ‎പുലര്‍ത്തുകയുമാണെങ്കില്‍ തീര്‍ച്ചയായും അത് ‎നിശ്ചയദാര്‍ഢ്യമുള്ള കാര്യം തന്നെ.

The polytheists say,‘Had Allah wished, we would not have worshiped anything besides Him- neither we, nor our fathers- nor we would have forbidden anything without His sanction.' Those who were before them had acted likewise. Is the apostles' duty anything but to communicate in clear terms?
ബഹുദൈവ വിശ്വാസികള്‍ പറഞ്ഞു:" അല്ലാഹു ഇച്ഛിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഞങ്ങളോ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോ അവനെക്കൂടാതെ ഒന്നിനെയും പൂജിക്കുമായിരുന്നില്ല. അവന്റെ വിധിയില്ലാതെ ഒന്നും നിഷിദ്ധമാക്കുമായിരുന്നില്ല.” അവര്‍ക്കു മുമ്പുള്ളവരും ഇതുതന്നെ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. സന്ദേശം വ്യക്തമായി എത്തിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുകയെന്നതല്ലാത്ത എന്തു ബാധ്യതയാണ് ദൈവദൂതന്മാര്‍ക്കുള്ളത്?

created the heavens and the earth, of these four being sacred; that is the right reckoning; therefore be not unjust to yourselves regarding them, and fight the polytheists all together as they fight you all together; and know that Allah is with those who guard(against evil).
വിലക്കപ്പെട്ടമാസങ്ങളാകുന്നു. അതാണ് വക്രതയില്ലാത്ത മതം. അതിനാല്‍ ആ( നാല്‌) മാസങ്ങളില്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ നിങ്ങളോട് തന്നെ അക്രമം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കരുത്‌. ബഹുദൈവവിശ്വാസികള്‍ നിങ്ങളോട് ആകമാനം യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നത് പോലെ നിങ്ങള്‍ അവരോടും ആകമാനം യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുക. അല്ലാഹു സൂക്ഷ്മത പാലിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൂടെയാണെന്ന് നിങ്ങള്‍ മനസ്സിലാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക.

The polytheists will say,“Had God willed,
ആ ബഹുദൈവാരാധകര്‍ പറഞ്ഞേക്കും: അല്ലാഹു ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഞങ്ങളോ,

four are sacred. That is the true religion. Do not wrong your souls in these months. Fight the polytheists all together, as they fight you all together, and know that God is with the righteous.
മാസങ്ങളില്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ നിങ്ങളോട് തന്നെ അക്രമം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കരുത്‌. ബഹുദൈവവിശ്വാസികള്‍ നിങ്ങളോട് ആകമാനം യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നത് പോലെ നിങ്ങള്‍ അവരോടും ആകമാനം യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുക. അല്ലാഹു സൂക്ഷ്മത പാലിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൂടെയാണെന്ന് നിങ്ങള്‍ മനസ്സിലാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക.

The polytheists will say,‘Had Allah wished we would not have ascribed any partner[to Him],
ആ ബഹുദൈവാരാധകര്‍ പറഞ്ഞേക്കും: അല്ലാഹു ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഞങ്ങളോ, ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കളോ( അല്ലാഹുവോട്‌) പങ്കുചേര്‍ക്കുമായിരുന്നില്ല;

of which four are sacred. This is the correct religion. So do not wrong yourselves during them. And fight the polytheists collectively, as they fight you collectively, and know that God is with the righteous.
മാസങ്ങളില്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ നിങ്ങളോട് തന്നെ അക്രമം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കരുത്‌. ബഹുദൈവവിശ്വാസികള്‍ നിങ്ങളോട് ആകമാനം യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നത് പോലെ നിങ്ങള്‍ അവരോടും ആകമാനം യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുക. അല്ലാഹു സൂക്ഷ്മത പാലിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൂടെയാണെന്ന് നിങ്ങള്‍ മനസ്സിലാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക.

മാസങ്ങളില്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ നിങ്ങളോട് തന്നെ അക്രമം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കരുത്‌. ബഹുദൈവവിശ്വാസികള്‍ നിങ്ങളോട് ആകമാനം യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നത് പോലെ നിങ്ങള്‍ അവരോടും ആകമാനം യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുക. അല്ലാഹു സൂക്ഷ്മത പാലിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൂടെയാണെന്ന് നിങ്ങള്‍ മനസ്സിലാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക.

The adulterer shall not marry except an adulteress or a polytheist woman, and none shall marry an adulteress except an adulterer or a polytheist; and this is forbidden for the believers.
വ്യഭിചാരി വ്യഭിചാരിണിയെയോ ബഹുദൈവവിശ്വാസിനിയെയോ അല്ലാതെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുകയില്ല. വ്യഭിചാരിണിയെ വ്യഭിചാരിയോ ബഹുദൈവ വിശ്വാസിയോ അല്ലാതെ വിവാഹംചെയ്യുകയുമില്ല. സത്യവിശ്വാസികള്‍ക്ക് അത് നിഷിദ്ധമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

In order that Allah may punish the hypocrite men, and the hypocrite women, and the polytheist men, and the polytheist women-
കപടവിശ്വാസികളായ പുരുഷന്‍മാരെയും സ്ത്രീകളേയും, ബഹുദൈവവിശ്വാസികളായ പുരുഷന്‍മാരെയും സ്ത്രീകളെയും അല്ലാഹു ശിക്ഷിക്കുവാനും, സത്യവിശ്വാസികളായ പുരുഷന്‍മാരുടെയും,

Thus the polytheists speak the same as their words.
അങ്ങനെ ഇവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞത് പോലെ തന്നെ വിവരമില്ലാത്ത ചിലരൊക്കെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട്‌.

Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists.
അതിനാല്‍ നീ കല്‍പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതെന്തോ അത് ഉറക്കെ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച് കൊള്ളുക. ബഹുദൈവവാദികളില്‍ നിന്ന് തിരിഞ്ഞുകളയുകയും ചെയ്യുക.

I do not fear for you that you will turn polytheists after me.
എനിക്ക്‌ ശേഷം നിങ്ങള്‍ ബഹുദൈവാരാധകര്‍ ആകുന്നതിനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ മേല്‍ ഞാന്‍ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നില്ല.

We wronged them not, but they were the Zalimunpolytheists, wrong-doers.
നാം അവരോട് ഒരതിക്രമവും കാട്ടിയിട്ടില്ല. എന്നാല്‍ അവര്‍ തങ്ങളോടുതന്നെ അതിക്രമം കാണിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

Indeed, those you[polytheists] call upon besides Allah are servants like you.
തീര്‍ച്ചയായും അല്ലാഹുവിന് പുറമെ നിങ്ങള്‍ വിളിച്ച് പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നവരെല്ലാം നിങ്ങളെപ്പോലെയുള്ള ദാസന്‍മാര്‍ മാത്രമാണ്‌.

And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing peopledisobedient, polytheists.
ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കാകട്ടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ മേല്‍ ഒരധികാരവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുമില്ല. പ്രത്യുത, നിങ്ങള്‍ അതിക്രമകാരികളായ ഒരു ജനവിഭാഗമായിരുന്നു.

And the polytheists said,'had Allah willed, we would not have worshipped anything save Him, neither we nor.
( നിന്റെ ഇത്തരം വചനങ്ങള്‍ക്കു മറുപടിയായി) ഈ ബഹുദൈവവിശ്വാസികള്‍ തീര്‍ച്ചയായും പറയും:' അല്ലാഹു ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചിരുന്നുവെങ്കില്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ ബഹുദൈവാരാധകരാകുമായിരുന്നില്ല.
