(ب) عرضت السيد إيريكا- إيرين دايس، المقررة الخاصة المعنية بحماية تراث الشعوب الأصلية، تقرير الحلقة الدراسية بشأن مشروع المبادئ العامة والمبادئ التوجيهية لحماية تراث الشعوب الأصلية، التي عقدت في جنيف في الفترة من 28 شباط/فبراير إلى 1 آذار/مارس 2000( E/ CN.4/ Sub.2/ 2000/ 26Pursuant to SubCommission resolution 1997/13, a seminar was convened on the draft principles and guidelines for the protection of the heritage of indigenous peoples(E/CN.4/Sub.2/1994/31, annex) with the participation of the Special Rapporteur and representatives of Governments, United Nations bodies and organizations, specialized agencies, organizations of indigenous peoples and competent indigenous persons.
وعملاً بقرار اللجنة الفرعية 1997/13، عُقدت حلقة دراسية بشأن مشروع المبادئ العامة والتوجيهية لحماية تراث الشعوب الأصلية E/CN.4/Sub.2/1994/31، المرفق، بمشاركة المقررة الخاصة، وممثلي الحكومات، وهيئات ومنظمات الأمم المتحدة، والوكالات المتخصصة ومنظمات الشعوب الأصلية، والمختصين من أبناء الشعوب الأصليةIn accordance with the recommendation of the Subcommission contained in its resolution 1994/48, a note verbale was sent on 28 October 1994 to indigenous peoples ' organizations, communities and nations, as well as to Governments, the specialized agencies and intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, inviting them to submit comments on the draft principles and guidelines.

It welcomed the adoption on first reading of the draft principles and called on members to submit comments by 1 January 2006 with a view to the Commission ' s completion of its work on them during the current quinquennium.
