This encourages United Nations agencies and bodies to accord high priority to the implementation of the Plan, thus ensuring that it is reflected in their medium-term plans and programmes.

Reiterate their commitment to the principles and objectives stated in the main multilateral documents concerning sustainable development, such as the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development and the Agenda 21, adopted at the 1992 Rio Conference, as well as to the implementation of the Plan of the World Summit on Sustainable Development, held in Johannesburg in 2002.
